To All Brethren of the Province.
Hello One and All,
I start by thanking those brethren who have contacted me due to me not attending the Annual RAM Assembly last Saturday as they thought I was unwell. My absence was due to me being in Wetherby on KTP masonic duty. I am well thank you, having suffered from Flu two weeks before Christmas. I am told it was a good meeting at Botley and I offer my congratulations to all who received Prov. RAMGR.
The MBF Festival draws ever closer and I hope that as many of you as possible will be in attendance. A lot of hard work has been put in by the Festival committee, and we thank them very much indeed for their efforts, which I trust will be well rewarded by our support. If you wish to there is still the opportunity to make donations to this worthy cause.
At Christmas some Lodges, through the Almoner, send a cheque to former members widows, which is a great gesture. Many of these widows would like to show their appreciation by sending a letter of gratitude. I understand, or I can be corrected, that some Almoners do not provide contact details, both in Craft and Mark, could I suggest that this matter receives some attention, I am aware that many of you do already. The contact with the widows is very important and some feel that they are forgotten when they do not hear from the Almoner or any other brethren, Can I ask that this contact is made as it is important. We should also keep in touch with those brethren that we have not seen at Lodge recently. A phone call or a personal call would not go amiss so that we live up to our reputation of being a caring and friendly Degree, Please do not leave this only to the Almoner, we are all in this together.
The garden has not had much attention recently due to the wet weather, although when there is a fine day, Pat tries to get out and do something to improve matters. Our project in the spring is to rejuvenate the lawns, which still have some bare patches in places. The return of some of the wild birds has gladdened Pat’s heart recently as they have been missed over the last month.
Best wishes to you all.
Malcolm Lloyd, P.G.S.D., Prov. Almoner
