To All Brethren of the Province.
It is good evening to you all on this busy Sunday.
Lunchtime, I and Pat, attended the midterm Sunday lunch at Botley, organised by the Provincial Wardens, which was well attended. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming together with an excellent meal. Well done all those who helped to make this such an enjoyable day.
What a pleasure it was to see the rain falling recently, the garden has benefitted very much, some, not all, of the areas of the lawns , which I have reseeded, are beginning to show new grass coming through, I await seeing more grass appearing soon. Early this morning Pat was trying to get rid of the pigeons who were heartily eating some of the grass seed I have spread on the back lawn. There is still some colour in the garden and Pat has spent quite a few hours trying to get rid of the bind weed from the soil. The last few beetroot have been pulled up, cooked and pickled. It is a matter of trying to tidy up the garden before the colder days come in. We have been disappointed with some of the vegetable crops this tear, due to the very dry conditions, better luck next year.
I am informed that applications to attend the Provincial MBF Festival next July, have been encouraging but there are still places available so please give support to this special event. There is still time to subscribe to the Festival and the P.G.M. reported that he has received a healthy cheque from the Province of Devon, which shows the support that is given by other Provinces. Whatever you might be able to contribute, by either regular giving or as and when you are able, will be gratefully received.
Please keep those lines of communication open, we are all almoners, and able to contact those brethren that we have bot seen recently. A phone call or an offer to have coffee together is always appreciated.
Can I say a big thank you to those brethren who have mentioned these letters to me, I have realised over the months that they are read.
Best wishes to you all.
Kindest rregards,
W. Bro. Malcolm Lloyd, P.G.S.D., Prov. Almoner
