It is with very great sadness I post the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W. Bro Patrick Burridge, P.G. St. B. P. Prov. Dep. Secretary, who passed awa peacefully, surrounded by his family during the morning of 5th, October, 2022. I must admit that I have already shed a tear or two. Having known Patrick for a number of years now, he was a great person who was always cheerful and dedicated to whatever he was tasked to do. He made a wonderful impression on us as Provincial Warden along with Richard Cox. He has suffered ill health for a while but bore it steadfastly. May he Rest in Peace.

David was a great supporter of masonry and travelled as one of the four Musketeers from the Isle of Wight on many occasions. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Tasha and their daughter.

It is with great sadness and regret that I acknowledge the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday, 8th September, 2022. She was a gracious Lady who carried out her Oath and promise to dedicate her life to her duty as our Quenn and head of the Commonwealth. Our thoughts and prayers are with King Charles III and the whole of the Royal family. Our thanks are expressed for all of her dedication and leadership. May she rest in peace.

Belatedly I note the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Bro. David Hayes, on the 31st. August, 2022, he was a former member of Meredies Mark and Ram Lodges but resigned in 2021 due to ill health. I met David as a member of a Rose Croix Chapter in Chandlers Ford. He was always very friendly and had a good sense of humour but has suffered ill health for a couple of years. I understand from his brother, Philip, that David wished to spend his last days at home and he was still joshing with the family to the end, when he passed peacefully away. He was a gentleman and he will be greatly missed.

Brethren, it is with some sadness that I note the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W. Bro. Alan Greasley, a Past Master of Thistle and Shamrock Mark Lodge, No. 1048. He was a man who spoke his mind whilst being very generous towards charity. Alan was a member of many Orders, being active in all until the last few years when his health was failing. One time I remember being in W. Bro. Alan’s company is when he was Senior Warden of Thistle and Shamrock and I had the privilege of being the Provincial Senior Warden.
As was tradition with that Lodge, the Provincial Officers were hosted by their opposite numbers. Alan sat in the Senior Warden’s Chair, in Lake Road, and I was alongside of him. It seemed miles away from everyone else but we had a good time. Alan lived respected and died regretted, he will be missed by all.

The Province was so delighted to receive him on Saturday and commented what a lovely man he was and very approachable. He will be sadly missed in this Province but we will always retain the memory of his sincerity, good humour and approachability. He certainly lived respected and died regretted,
