    On behalf of W. Bro. Ian Small I publish this statement;
” It is with a heavy heart that I must let you know that W. Bro. Alan Small has passed peacefully to the Grand Lodge Above. He was a member of Romsey Mark Lodge, No. 910 and Solent RAM, No. 63. He also was a member of both Meridies Mark and RAM for a while.
He took a great deal of enjoyment from Freemasonry and highly valued the relationships that he formed with so many in this Province.
Thank you all for the high regard and affection that you showed him. He lived long and well and will leave us regretted.”

It is my sad duty to advise of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W Bro Derek (Skip) Attree PPJGW, Past Provincial Grand Organist on the evening of Friday 25th March at home with his family surrounding him. Skip was not only the PProvGOrg for the Mark Province, but also organist for a good number of lodges/Orders in the NE area of the Province in particular. A truly respected man by many and a dedicated Mason he will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace Skip from all at the Bordon centre specifically.

A good fiend to many, Bro, Leon Whitfield, New Forest Mark Lodge, No. 611, was called to higher service on 19th March, 2022, after a short illness. I first knew Leon through K.T. where he was a great help to myself and many others, guiding and encouraging them through the Order. He was also an APGM in the Craft. I will always remember his warm, smiling face. May he rest in Peace. He certainly lived respected and died regretted.

It is with much sadness that I report the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W. Bro. Derek Burnett, P.P.G.S.W., Prov. RAMGR on the 12th February, 2022. I last spoke to Derek at the RAM Annual Assembly at Botley, when he received his Provincial Appointment to Prov. RAMGR.
I first met Derek in 1963 , when we served as Police Officers in Eastleigh. My wife was also a Police Officer there and when I told her of Derek’s passing she stated that he was a good police officer and a gentleman. He will be very much missed. May he rest in peace.

    W.Bro. Brian Davies PProvGJW 08/05/1936 06/02/2022
Brian was born in Wales to a Baptist family, the son of a Baptist minister. They moved to
Hampshire, where Brian joined the Peter Symonds boy’s Grammar School.
After national service he joined the police force and spent many years on the Isle of Wight.
Latterly, he was the driver for the Chief constable, retired and rejoined as his chauffeur again for
many years, the stories of his adventures not be repeated…
He bought a beach hut at Leigh-on-Solent, christened it ‘The Shack’ and the Lodge had many
happy visits there in a few summers with Pam & Brian the jovial hosts.
He joined the Old School Lodge in 1962, and was the Master in 1975.
He was in the Craft and Mark degree for 60 years this December.
He was a great motoring enthusiast, owning an MGB and caravan, taking his family with three
    daughters all over Europe.
He loved sailing in his yacht ‘Kea’ and latterly joined many of us on raiding trips to the Isle of Wight
    – again – many stories not to be repeated here.
A keen rugby player in his pomp, he was always an enthusiast and on occasion, installed a tv set in
the festive board to watch the game, one memorable occasion is when he with his cohorts came
back to Clare and I after a meeting to watch a final.
I first met Brian on joining the Old Symondian Lodge 24 years ago – he was one of the few
remaining Old Boys of Peter Symonds School in the Lodge. I was made most welcome and learned
the fine details of the Almoner duties from him, as he was the Almoner for many years.
He lived his life to the full – an eloquent and popular MC at many festivals and meetings with his
fine strong Welsh voice and good humour.
He was kind hearted and ran the local ‘Acorn Club’ with Pam for his ‘biddies’ with enthusiasm.
He was a cornerstone of our Lodge and will be very sadly missed.
A good friend and mentor to us all.
Rest in Peace now, Brian, your work is done well.
    Davud Cambell Almoner 5734
