New Assistant Grand Master...

All Mark Master Masons and Royal Ark Mariners in Hampshire & Isle of Wight send hearty congratulations to our erstwhile retiring Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro. John H. Prizeman, on his appointment to Assistant Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons.  The appointment was announced at the regular communication of Grand Lodge on Tuesday 8th March 2016.

142 Years service to Mark Masonry

The Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro John Herbert Prizeman attended the November 2015 meeting of Bournemouth Mark Lodge No 125 when he was delighted to present Long Service Certificates to three Brethren who between them had achieved 142 years service in Bournemouth Mark Lodge.

Mark 54 supports ABF The Soldiers' Charity

Members of Aldershot Military Lodge No.54 recently donated £375 to ABF The Soldier's Charity.  One of the Lodge members, W.Bro. Guy Sudron, signed up to do the charity's 'Frontline Walk', a 100km trek in 3 days from Arras to Ypres.  

One of the conditions of participating in the walk was for each entrant to raise a minimum of £1200.  At a regular meeting of Mark 54 a sponsorship form was passed around the Lodge members.  Between them, the Lodge members donated the magnificent sum of £375, boosting W.Bro. Sudron's total monies raised to over £2300.

Provincial Grand Master to retire

At the Provincial Mid Term Luncheon held at Botley Masonic Centre on Sunday 18th October 2015, R W Bro John Herbert Prizeman GMRAC announced that he would retire as Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Province of Hampshire and IOW with effect from midnight on Friday 22nd April 2016. His decision was prompted by his increasing commitments as President of the Mark Benevolent Fund which required him to spend a substantial amount of time in London and elsewhere in the country.

He further announced that the MW Grand Master has been pleased to appoint V W Bro George John Deacon PGJO, Deputy Provincial Grand Master as his successor. V W Bro George will be installed as Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 23rd April 2016.

Both the Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy will continue with their Official and Private visits throughout the Province until April 2016. This will afford brethren the opportunity to express their thanks and appreciation to the Provincial Grand Master for his outstanding and inspirational leadership over the past 8+ years and, of course, to offer their congratulations and best wishes to the PGM (designate) V W Bro George Deacon.

Supporting Cystic Fibrosis

THE MARK PROVINCIAL BENEVOLENT FUND GIVES TO CYSTIC FIBROSIS

At the end of March 2015 it came to the notice of VW Bro Peter James that efforts by the parents and grandparents of three year old Niamh Ford to raise money to purchase a cystic fibrosis vest for Niamh who suffered quite severely from cystic fibrosis had ground to a halt.
