Provincial visit to Medina Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 140
There followed a lecture on the "Royal Ark Mariner Origins", presented by W.Bro. Adrian Bolton, ProvRAMGR which was met with great acclaim by the Brethren present. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master thanked W.Bro. Adrian for his presentation, and that he had not contradicted anything V.W.Bro. Peter had said when presenting the Grand Lodge Certificate!
At the Festive Board the Worshipful Commander presented a cheque to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Benevolent Fund and Festival. This was a fantastic amount which will result in the Lodge being presented with the Gold Patron Award. There have been a number of visits to Isle of Wight this year and their generosity has been phenomenal. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master informed the Brethren that this was his last "solo” visit of the Provincial calendar as he was stepping down in April 2020. He hoped he could return and present them with their Mark Benevolent Fund collarette in due course.
He added that recruitment and retention in the Royal Ark Mariner Degree is difficult, and that this and other Lodges have been struggling to find and retain members. W.Bro. Bob Brown and W.Bro. Mike Lewis, who were present this evening, are available for a Mark or RAM recruitment presentations and he suggested that the Isle of Wight Royal Ark Mariner Lodges may wish to get together and have a recruitment evening.
Finally the Assistant Provincial Grand Master thanked the Provincial team for another terrific turnout, and the Director of Ceremonies for the evening W.Bro.Howard Pollard, ProvRAMGR, for his support. He wished everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas and best wishes for the new year.
