The Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. George J. Deacon, accompanied by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, V.W.Bro. W. Peter Lewis, and Officers of Provincial Grand Mark Lodge visited the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Installed Mark Masters Lodge No.1687 on Wednesday 30 October at the Masonic Hall in Cowes, Isle of Wight. This was the Installation Meeting of the Lodge where W.Bro. Tony Green, PGStwd, installed the Master-elect W.Bro. Stephen Henry Brown, PGStdB.

The Provincial Grand Master welcomed W.Bro. Stephen into the chair, and gave the Address to the Worshipful Master. The Address to the Wardens was given by W.Bro. Malcolm Stevens, PAGDC, the Address to the Overseers by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and the Address to the Brethren by the Provincial Grand Secretary, W.Bro. Nigel Bell, PGJD. Following the Installation W.Bro. Tony Green, PGStwd, received a cheque payable to Macmillan Cancer Support as a token of appreciation for his zeal and commitment during his year as Worshipful Master. There followed two very enjoyable and informative short papers given by W.Bro. Colin Wilson, PM, on "The Wardens” and "The Overseers”.

The Provincial Grand Master thanked the Brethren for a very delightful evening in the Cowes Masonic Centre. He pointed out to the Brethren that the jewel on his chain was presented by Sir Arthur Holbrook, a famous Isle of Wight Mason. He said that the history of Isle of Wight Freemasonry was very interesting and fascinating and would be an ideal topic to investigate and to give a presentation on.

It was another super evening with so many of the Provincial team attending along with the Brethren of the Lodge. An excellent meal was had at the Festive Board with thanks to W.Bro. Adrian Bolton, ProvAGCS, for his, and the Caterers hard work.
