TWO EMMINENT MASONS RECEIVE 40 YEAR LONG SERVICE CERTIFICATES

On the 7th of October, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Brian Ridler, made a special visit to the meeting in Farnborough of the Aldershot Army and Navy Lodge of Mark Masters No.349 to present certificates of membership to V.W. Bro. Dr. Roger Jago and W.Bro. Dr. Ian Joiner in celebration of their 40 years in Mark Masonry. The assembled brethren listened intently to the narrative for both of these worthy brethren given by the DPGM and congratulations are expressed to them both

W.Bro. Dr. Ian Joiner was advanced into the Aldershot Army & Navy Lodge of Mark Masters No.349 on 13th February 1976 and was installed as Worshipful Master in 1986. On leaving the Chair he was elected and invested as Treasurer an office he held from 1987 - 90. He was appointed as PProvGStB in 1993 and received promotion to PProvGMO in 2000. In Grand Lodge he was appointed as a GStwd in 2001 and then promoted to PGJD in 2006.

W.Bro. Ian is also a member of Mercury Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 777 and of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Provincial Stewards’ Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1796. He is also a holder of Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank which he received in 2003.  He holds the most senior Provincial ranks in the Craft and Royal Arch, is also a Grand Officer in Knights Templar and Red Cross of Constantine and a member of the 31?_ in the Ancient and Accepted Rite, Rose Croix.

V.W.Bro. Dr. Roger Jago was advanced by his father into Fidelity and Unanimity Lodge of Mark Masters No. 348 in Taunton on 27th February 1976, but due to the vagaries of military service was rarely able to attend. He therefore joined Army and Navy Lodge of Mark Masters No.349 on 28th September 1979, and immediately took office as Inner Guard.

He was installed as Worshipful Master in December 1989. He acted as Treasurer from 1990 to 93, as D.C. from 1993 to 95 and as Secretary 1995 to 99.  During 1989 V.W.Bro. Roger was also Commander of his Royal Ark Mariner Lodge and had the honour of elevating his father W.Bro Bernard Jago.

He served the Province as ProvGJW in 1995 and as AsstProvGM from 1999 until his appointment as the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent in 2001.  In Grand Lodge he has kept the regalia manufacturers in business by being appointed as a Mark Grand Steward in 1997, promoted to PGJD in 2000, to PGJO in 2005 and to PGSO in 2012.

He was the Primus Master of the Mark Provincial Stewards Lodge No. 1796 when it was consecrated in 2003 and is a member of Mercury Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 777 and of the Grand Master’s Lodge.  He holds Grand rank in the Craft, the Royal Arch and is a holder of Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank received in 1999, and is a member of the 32?_ in the Ancient and Accepted Rite, Rose Croix.
